Jun 11, 2018 · The hub now has almost 6,000 miles on it and it shifts perfectly. There are few tiny metal particles in the drained oil. In any case, the hub is out of warranty! I've also been using the same oil for "dipping" my Nexus hubs once a year. This regimen, plus Nexus grease on the wheel bearings, has been working well. Steve
Nov 29, 2020 · Use a shop towel to wipe out the inner differential housing to help control additional oil. Next, clean the metal debris from the differential cover magnet and continue to clean the gasket surface with the scraper until free from gear oil. Use carburetor cleaner to ensure no oil is present.
Purchase a quart of oil and a pump from your autoparts store. You simply pump the oil in just as you used to pump grease in the old bearing buddies. If you see dark fluid you should be good. If it looks brown or milky that means you have water contamination. Ranger used to have the owners manuals available showing the method. _____
